Therapeutic-educational therapy

Therapeutic educational therapy (TED) is a comprehensive treatment of the patient, where individual parts are performed as needed based on the examination. The patient can undergo a combination of several therapies such as mobilization, physical therapy, cupping or individual therapeutic exercise. In the case of TED, it is individual education with an emphasis on explaining the causes of the problem, teaching and counseling.

The main component of the therapy is ILTV (individual therapeutic physical education) as a set of exercises adapted to the client’s health condition under the guidance of a physiotherapist. Such exercise is aimed at the overall improvement of the health condition of 1 client. The goal is to restore and maintain physical movement functions, improve fitness and muscle strength, as well as develop functional motor adaptation of the organism.

Therapeutic physical education programs

Special physical education therapies include the SM system, DNS, McKenzie, ACT, and others.

  • The SM system is a Stabilization and Mobilization system. The method deals with the treatment and prevention of the spine, such as back pain, scoliosis, herniated discs and other movement problems.
  • DNS is dynamic neuromuscular stabilization. The exercise elements are based on the developmental kinesiology of the child. It is a diagnostic and therapeutic concept. It focuses on inducing correct movement stereotypes through the CNS.
  • McKenzie is a mechanical diagnosis and therapy in one. The method is an excellent tool for patients who want to take an active approach to treating their problems and are looking for an effective way to treat and prevent pain.
  • ACT is a method in which the spine is straightened through resistance to the acral parts of the upper and lower limbs. The goal of ACT therapy is to correct our bad movement habits through motor learning. The spine is straightened by coactivation of the ventral and dorsal muscle chains. By following the basic principles of this method, muscle imbalance is eliminated, the back muscles are strengthened, and the musculoskeletal system as a whole is stabilized.
